Season 3 of House of the Dragon is heading towards an “all-out war”; The Battle of the Esophagus is going to be the craziest episode on television

House of the Dragon is headed toward war in its upcoming third season, with the cast and creators teasing what could become one of the “craziest” episodes in television history.Set roughly 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” the series chronicles the brutal Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.

After building up the horde over two seasons, Team Black and Team Green finally go to war and send Westeros into chaos.

Esophageal battleTo be the craziest episode

Speaking in Entertainment Weekly’s latest cover story, series co-creator and director Ryan Condal teased that the infamous gullet battle would be “the craziest episode of television ever.”Emma Darcy, who leads the series as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, joked: “This time it starts at 60mph.

“We are finally watching a war that has been escalating for two seasons.”“It felt like the bar had been raised – and I’m a competitive person, so I wanted to make it happen,” the actor added of the show, which returns to screens on June 21.Meanwhile, Ewan Mitchell, Aemond Targaryen currently holding the Iron Throne, promised: “It’s all-out war. It’s just a blitz right out of the gate.”

About the “Esophagus Battle”

The battle of the esophagus is expected to serve as the focus of the first episode.

The sequence adapts one of the bloodiest naval conflicts in George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, and is said to have taken four years to develop for screen.Condal continued, “Trying to tell this story without doing ‘Juliet’ would be like trying to do ‘The Lord of the Rings’ without doing the Battle of Helm Deep. If we were going to do it, we had to do it right.”The battle will see Grand Admiral Sharaku Lohar, played by Abigail Thorne, lead the Triarchy fleet in an attempt to break House Velaryon’s siege of Esophagus.

“She’s Captain Ahab in this episode,” Thorne said. “She’s on the hunt for her white whale.”The massive conflict will unfold across sea and sky as dragons join the battle, with characters including Harry Collet’s Prince Jacaerys Velaryon and Lady Baella Targaryen’s Bethany Antonia, taking to the battlefield on their dragons. The battle was also teased in the trailer released earlier this month.

House of the Dragon series will end after season 4

Condal also confirmed that the series is still expected to end with Season 4. “I can’t speak for everyone else involved with the show and HBO and all that, but yeah, that’s pretty much my plan,” Condal said.
