Your first look at the upcoming live-action reimagining of the new series “Scooby-Doo: The Origins” is here! After teasing fans with its new cast of young talent, Netflix has given a first look at its star – the pup who plays the famous crime-fighting dog.The streaming platform revealed a stunning first look at the dog and also shared a short teaser that gives us a glimpse of the first meeting between the famous Great Dane and young Shaggy. The clip, which begins with the dog’s perspective, continues to show the instant bond between Shaggy and Scooby, which would set the stage for their lifelong friendship.

The teaser was shared with the caption, “SCOOOOOBY DOOO. Scooby-Doo: Origins, coming to Netflix in 2027!”

The series, which is currently filming in Atlanta, will be different from previous on-screen portrayals, as it will also be the first time a real dog has been chosen to portray Scooby-Doo, rather than relying on CGI animation.The series will feature the Mystery Inc. team. The all-new cast includes Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, Tanner Hagen as Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and McKenna Grace as Daphne Blake. Actor Paul Walter Hauser is also scheduled to appear in an undisclosed role.

The first look left the internet divided, with some fans entranced by the puppy, while others criticized the decision to cast a real puppy, as it would take away from the character’s classic quirks.

One fan said: “One of the best running gags in Scooby-Doo was always him disguising himself as a human and everyone getting along with him, treating him like he was actually a person using a real dog, which robs the character of a lot of the fun, whimsy and camp of like I’m sorry but part of Scooby’s charm is that he’s not really tied to reality.

Others defended the choice of the puppy, saying: “To everyone who is terrified… this is a prequel series…

Scooby is supposed to be a puppy…this is what a chocolate Great Dane puppy looks like.”He shared the latest screenshots of the older films in the series and said: “Nothing will ever come close to these Scooby-Doo movies.”

According to the official log, “Scooby-Doo: Origins” follows Shaggy and Daphne during their final summer at camp, where they “become involved in a haunting mystery surrounding a missing, lonely Great Dane puppy who may have been witness to a supernatural murder.” Together with the down-to-earth, scientific town tycoon, Velma (Fortson), and the strange, but very handsome new kid, Freddie (Jenkins), they set out to solve the case that drags each of them into a terrifying nightmare that threatens to expose all their secrets.
