Saif Ali Khan left behind a little-known behind-the-scenes story – Shah Rukh Khan once personally invited him for a role in the 2004 blockbuster ‘Main Hoon Na’, but director Farah Khan later dropped him. The revelation came as the two stars gear up for their much-awaited reunion in ‘Kartavya’, which will air on the OTT platform from May 15, 2026.

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Saif Ali Khan was asked if projects seem more exciting when they come from Shah Rukh Khan. His answer came with a frank and entertaining anecdote. “Yes, of course. He once called me for Main Hoon Na. He said there was a great part,” Saif recalls. However, the opportunity did not materialize. He added, laughing at the memory: “Then Farah called me later and said, ‘No, no, no.’”
