Bold, creative, and starring Rossi De Palma in vivid colours. This describes many of Spanish auteur Pedro Almodóvar’s films, but it also applies to Rimowa’s latest luxury luggage campaign, which features orange and purple pieces as part of the Essential and Groove collection.

The two bold colors are meant to “celebrate individuality, creative expression and the joy color brings to everyday life” according to Rimowa. The new campaign – debuting in time for the Cannes Film Festival, where Almodóvar will give the world premiere of his latest film, Bitter Christmasstarring Barbara Linni and Leonardo Sbaraglia (De Palma in a supporting role) in the story of a woman abandoned by her partner during the holiday season — places De Palma in a scene reminiscent of an Almodovar flick. She travels through a vibrant home complemented by colorful pieces.

De Palma breaks down one in the accompanying film, going so far as to speak in a loud voice like a telephone. “Purple is a wonderful color, it strengthens the spirit,” says De Palma, who starred in Almodovar’s film. Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown, broken arms, Kika, Julieta and Parallel mothers. “It’s a mix of red and blue. But it doesn’t look like either.”

For travel enthusiasts, Rimowa’s Essential collection, which includes cases and bags, is made from premium polycarbonate – and carries the brand’s lifetime guarantee. The new orange and purple cases (available in carry-on and check-in sizes ranging from €750 to €1,190) feature stage-free telescopic handles, TSA-approved locks and a complimentary leather address tag. Inside, there’s a fully zipped luggage compartment on one side while the other features Rimowa’s signature Flex Divider, a compression system that allows travelers to pack more stuff for their adventures – on and off screen.

The Rimowa collection also includes an orange crossbody bag made in Italy from calf leather, a shopping bag, a tri-fold toiletry bag and packing cubes. Available now on Rimowa.com and in the brand’s stores worldwide.
