Richa Chadha, known for her bold roles in Bollywood, now aims to venture into Western cinema, inspired by the global success of her husband Ali Fazal in films like “Furious 7” and “Death on the Nile”. Having worked in ‘Masaan’ and ‘Love Sonia’, Richa hopes to find strong Hollywood scripts to expand her international career.
Since her debut in 2008, Richa Chadda has steadily built a niche in Bollywood with her bold and unconventional performances. After nearly twenty years, the actress feels it is time to broaden her horizons and pursue new possibilities in Western cinema.
She wants to leave her mark in international films, inspired by her husband, Ali Fazal, who participated in films such as “Furious 7” (2015), “Victoria & Abd” (2017), “Death on the Nile” (2022), and “Kandahar” (2023).
Richa Chadha takes inspiration from Ali Fazal
As reported in the Hindustan Times, she said: “I would like to follow in Ali’s footsteps and have something tangible in the West. Who wouldn’t want that? He was so amazing at straddling the two worlds. To see him handle both worlds so beautifully is simply amazing in its own way.”
Richa Chadha’s global cinematic journey
Having already worked in several international projects, Richa is not entirely new to the global cinema scene. Her performances in “Words with Gods” (2014), an Indo-Mexican-American production, the Indo-French film “Masaan” (2015), and the Indo-American drama “Love Sonia” (2018) introduced her to audiences outside India. But this time, she has a clearer vision of her international journey. “If I get a good script and character, working in Hollywood would definitely be something I would love to do,” she adds.
Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal’s upcoming projects
On the professional front, Richa Chadha’s next project is still under wraps. Meanwhile, Ali Fazal is all set to return as Guddu Bhaiya in the upcoming film adaptation of the ‘Mirzapur’ franchise.
