Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has left the industry and the public in shock. Fans are still sad and missing the actor. After Sushant’s death, Rhea Chakraborty was at the center of scrutiny. In a recent interview, Rhea spoke candidly about the lasting emotional scars left by the turbulent period following Sushant’s death.

Rhea reflects on the years of trauma, healing and recovery that followed one of the most difficult chapters of their lives.Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in 2020 while investigating a drug case linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Although several years have passed since then, they both admitted that the experience still affects them.

Looking back at the life he envisioned before the controversy engulfed his family, Showik and Rhea spoke about how dramatically things have changed.“The first semester was completely the opposite. I was this nerd who was trying to get into an MBA school, either IIM or Wharton. The first semester was the best option,” Showik said when he appeared with Rhea for the IIM programme.

Chat show “Double Date”. Shuvik remembers how quickly life took an unexpected turn, derailing the future he had planned for himself. “And then it all went south. No one can predict these things. Life totally surprises you,” he added.

Speaking about the long road to recovery, Showik revealed that it took years for the family to start rebuilding their lives. “There was a point where things were really bad and we got through it. It took us about four to five years. Even now, there are some days where you think, ‘This happened to me.'”The lingering effects of that period are still very real, he said. Shweik noted that he still suffers from symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), with some daily situations triggering traumatic memories.

“I still suffer from PTSD. Sometimes the doorbell would ring randomly and set me back in time. There was so much chaos back then that every doorbell made us feel like someone was following us,” he said.During the conversation, Neha Dhupia asked Rhea if she has managed to get over the trauma. The actor responded candidly, saying that some experiences never leave a person. “It’s not something you can really overcome.

It’s a shock. It stays in your body, if not in your mind.”Rhea explained that healing is not a one-time event, but rather an ongoing process that requires constant work and self-awareness.“As Shuvik was saying, there’s PTSD. You do therapy and you deal with it.”The siblings’ conversation provided a rare glimpse into the personal struggles they faced away from the public eye, and how years of therapy, resilience and support helped them get through a period that radically changed their lives.
