Academy Award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty has taken a firm stand against the unauthorized use of his identity, images, audio clips and intellectual property online. Through an official statement, Bukoti urged individuals and organizations to refrain from misusing his personality without prior approval.
The statement also warns that any further unauthorized use of his identity could result in legal action.

According to IANS, the legal notice issued by Resul Pookutty states that several websites, YouTube channels, social media accounts, companies and other organizations are misusing his name, images, videos and even his voice while falsely claiming to be associated with him. The notice alleges that such activities not only misled the public but also damaged its reputation and goodwill.It further clarifies that no individual or organization may use its name, trademarks or other intellectual property unless expressly acknowledged or approved.

The warning also addresses emerging digital threats posed by AI-generated content. Pookutty specifically objected to the creation and distribution of manipulated videos, artificial audio recordings, synthetic content, digitally manipulated images, and other forms of altered media that might portray or distort him.
The notice states that this content may violate his legal rights. It also confirms that the trademarks associated with Resul Pookutty, Canaries Post Sound and the Resul Pookutty Foundation are protected under applicable laws.
Legal action is planned if violations continue
Pookutty’s legal team has directed content creators, publishers, broadcasters, platform operators and administrators to immediately remove all unauthorized content and stop monetizing such material. The notice also states that no content relating to Pookutty’s identity may be created, published or distributed without his express consent.If these directives are ignored, Bukoti warned that appropriate civil and criminal proceedings will be initiated before the relevant courts and authorities.
