Sources clarify that reports that Salman Khan is mediating the Don 3 feud between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar are not true. Ranveer opted out of the film in December 2025 after prioritizing other projects. Excel Entertainment has sought compensation of Rs 40-45 crore, escalating the matter to industry bodies.

Salman Khan did not intervene to resolve the “Don 3” crisis between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar. Despite reports circulating on Friday that the star played the role of peacemaker in the ongoing dispute between the actor and the director, no such intervention took place.

“Don 3” is subject to repeated delays and the production blames the actor, not the director

Ranveer was officially unveiled as the face of ‘Don 3’ back in 2023 through a stunning teaser, generating huge excitement among fans. However, the project has since been subjected to repeated delays, leaving many to question the reasons behind the disruptions. The production has reportedly maintained that the blame for these setbacks does not lie with director Farhan or the producer

Ritesh Sidhwani

How Ranveer Singh’s other commitments led to ‘Don 3’ being released repeatedly

According to reports, Ranveer has joined the film and Farhan wanted to start it right after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023). However, Ranveer has already set dates for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Baiju Bawra’ and has already started the preparations for this film. After this, Prasanth Varma’s project gained momentum and ‘Don 3’ was once again pushed by the actor. Ranveer Singh later informed the production house about his plans to prioritize Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar.

He felt that after a string of unsuccessful films, this particular project had the potential to raise his profile with audiences and him joining Don’s role next would put the franchise in a better position. Once Dhurandhar gained momentum, Ranveer backed out of Don 3 on December 20, 2025, just three weeks before the film was scheduled to release.

Ranveer Singh is now focusing on his next project ‘Pralay’.

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is said to be gearing up to shift his focus to his next project ‘Pralay’, and the shooting is expected to begin very soon.

Excel Entertainment is seeking compensation in the range of Rs 40-45 crore

Excel Entertainment has reportedly sought compensation worth Rs 40-45 crore from Ranveer over the alleged losses incurred during pre-production, escalating the matter first to the Producers Guild of India and then to FWICE. Ashoke Pandit, senior advisor to FWICE, revealed that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have approached the authority, noting that significant investments have already been made in the project, including overseas reconnaissance flights, hotel bookings and logistical arrangements for a crew of over 200 people.

Pandit also claimed that Ranveer signed a three-film contract with Excel Entertainment and was actively involved in script discussions as well as the ad shoot. The controversy quickly sparked debate among industry bodies, with CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon commenting that “a ban is a strong word for a hardworking actor” and arguing that the actors’ association should have been consulted before issuing any call for non-cooperation.
