Ravi Mohan is gearing up for the release of his next film ‘Karathey Babu’, a political thriller directed by ‘Dada’ fame Ganesh K. Babu. The film has already generated curiosity through its teaser and music, and the makers have now officially confirmed its theatrical release.

After weeks of speculation, the makers have announced that ‘Karathey Babu’ will hit theaters across the world on August 28. The film is Ravi Mohan’s 34th film as a lead actor and is extensively supported by producer Sunder Arumugam.
Sam CS has composed the music, while the audio rights for the film have been acquired recently. With Kannada star Yash’s much-awaited Hindi action film ‘Toxic’ slated to release on August 26, ‘Karathey Babu’ will be headed for a major struggle at the box office just two days later.
The release date announcement has raised expectations among fans who are eager to watch Ravi Mohan in a politically motivated role despite stiff competition.

Says director Ganesh K. Babu ‘Karathey Babu’ goes beyond the usual political thriller template. According to him, while many films explore politicians and power struggles, few have focused on the personal life, emotions and relationships of a public actor. He revealed that the story revolves around the lesser-known side of a member of the Legislative Council, mixing politics with strong emotional moments.
The film introduces Dhavi Jewal, daughter of former Tamil Nadu Director General of Police Shankar Jewal, as the female lead. Veteran actors KS Ravikumar, Nassar and Sakthi Vasu also play pivotal roles.
