BTS documentary 'Dhurandhar' starring Ranveer Singh will be released as a feature film in theaters by late 2026 - reports

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar duo broke box office records, with the sequel grossing INR 1,100 crore domestically. Now, the full-length BTS film — featuring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal and more — is eyeing a theatrical premiere in Q4 2026, a first for Indian cinema. No leaks yet; Aditya’s posts containing only pictures indicate the plan.

After the unprecedented devastation at the box office caused by Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller duo, the makers of ‘Dhurandhar’ (2025) and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ (2026) are all set to create history once again.

In a first for the Indian film industry, a full-length documentary is said to be being prepared for release in major theatres.

As of April 21, 2026, the sequel is still ruling theatres, having recently crossed the Rs. 1,100 crore net achievement at the domestic box office.

Making plans for theatrical release of ‘Dhurandhar’.

According to Hindustan Times, the makers decided to turn the making of the film into a spectacle. All BTS footage and interviews with the actors will be compiled into a full-length feature film, which will be revealed as a theatrical release in the last quarter of 2026, and then eventually broadcast on an OTT platform. All the key players in the film, including actors Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal and director Aditya Dhar, have not made any media interactions yet as their first interviews will be a part of the BTS film which will hit theaters directly.

It is a first for any Indian film, and the makers are making sure not to post any footage of BTS on social media before the film’s release.

Aditya Dhar’s social media post

For some time, Aditya has been thanking his crew via social media posts, but is sticking to pictures only, with no videos in sight. It feels like proof that the movie’s trailers are intended for the big-screen premiere of a behind-the-scenes featurette.
