Ramesh Taurani opens up on 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' controversy, 'Everything is arranged'

Ramesh Taurani has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ and Vashu Bhagnani, asserting that the controversy will not affect the release of the film. Bhagnani claimed that songs from his films were used without permission, saying: “My fight is about justice and morality.” The film will be released on June 5, 2026.

Producer Ramesh Taurani has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding the film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ and veteran producer Vashu Bhagnani. Turani explained that the matter is at hand and confirmed that it will not have any impact on the film’s promotions or its scheduled release date.

Ramesh Taurani says the release of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ will not be affected

When questions about the legal notice associated with the dispute arose at the film’s trailer launch, Turani wasn’t shy about addressing them directly. He was calm and confident as he spoke, showing that things had already been taken care of. “There is no problem with this. Whatever we had, it has been resolved,” he said, strongly ruling out any possibility that the film’s promotion or release would be affected.

He went on to add, “And whatever comes after that will also be resolved. So, there is no problem. It is a non-judicial matter. So, we are dealing with it,” leaving little room for any further speculation.

What is the controversy surrounding ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’?

The controversy started when Vashu Bhagnani claimed that songs from one of his films were being recreated and used without his permission. Pagnani has made it clear that his fight is not about money, but about what is right and wrong.

Vashu Bhagnani expresses his disappointment over the controversy over the song ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’.

Vashu did not hold back when it came to expressing his disappointment over David’s alleged involvement in recreating songs from his films for ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’.

The fact that David’s son, Varun, starred in the film, made the situation even more personal and painful for him. “At least just paas aate aur kehte Vashu mai yeh gaana karna hai mera beta hai (He should not have taken these songs. (At least he should have come to me and told me what to do, my son is there)… How can you shoot the same songs for another producer? There should be ethics in the industry.

..” Bhagnani said. He also spoke about the deep personal bond he shares with David Dhawan, stating that the hurt goes beyond any legal or financial dispute.

He said: “David is my brother. I had lunch and dinner with him. I sacrificed my life for him. Financially, it’s good, but emotionally, the whole family is devastated.”

Vashu Bhagnani denies the allegation of a technical glitch surrounding the trailer launch of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’.

Bhagnani also challenged the official reason given for canceling the release of the previous trailer, completely rejecting the claim of technical glitch. He claimed that the real reason behind the sudden cancellation was the team’s awareness of the ongoing court proceedings and fear of contempt of court.

“They opted out because they were aware of contempt of court. Now they have gone and filed a case in a Patna court.

They clearly knew that if anything happened, it would be contempt of court. But they made an excuse and called it a glitch.”

Vashu Bhagnani says his fight is bigger than the ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ dispute.

Despite the heated legal battle, Bhagnani made it clear that he has no intention of standing in the way of the film’s release. He said he was still open to finding a compromise and resolving the issue through talks.

“Remove my pictures, make a deal with me, or take permission, that’s all I’m asking,” he said, keeping his demands simple and direct. Pagnani also stressed that his fight is bigger than just one dispute – it is about defending producers’ rights and protecting intellectual property across the industry.

“My fight is not for me. My fight is for the public. It’s about justice and morality,” he said. He also referred to the interim protection granted by the court to Puja Entertainment in its legal battle against Tips Music over alleged unauthorized use of Bollywood intellectual property rights.

Bhagnani explained through his lawyer that the court’s status quo order includes everything mentioned in the lawsuit. “I think they did not carefully study the court’s order. The order clearly states that all the rights to music, songs and films mentioned in the plaintiff’s suit are covered by the status quo order,” the lawyer said.
