Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi has become one of the most talked-about names after the huge success of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, thanks to his fan-favorite character Jamil Jamali and the viral ‘Bachcha hai tu mera’ dialogue.

Amid reports claiming that the actor received a bonus of Rs 1 crore from the makers after the film’s success, Bedi has now responded to the ongoing buzz with his trademark humour.As per earlier reports, the makers of the Dhurandhar series were allegedly so impressed with Bedi’s performance that they rewarded him with an additional Rs 1 crore in addition to his original fee.However, speaking to Mashable India, the actor responded humorously to the rumours, saying that he should also make use of trending designs based on his popular dialogue.

During the same interaction, Bedi also reflected on the massive success of the franchise and the response it has received from audiences across the globe.When asked about Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar breaking records within weeks of its release, the actor humbly replied: “Maine koi record nahi toda yaar, records apne aap toot gaye.”Comparing today’s box office culture to the torch era, Bedi pointed out how audience habits and theatrical circulation have evolved over the decades.“If a film runs for 42 days today, it is considered a huge hit. But Sholay ran for five years. People watched it 10 to 15 times. At that time, there were only about 500 to 600 theaters in India. Today, there are thousands of screens,” he said.
