'Raja Shivaji': Rakhi Sawant, Tanvi Kolte, and other 'Bigg Boss Marathi 6' contestants attend the premiere of Riteish Deshmukh's film

Riteish Deshmukh’s ‘Raja Shivaji’ hits theaters today, May 1, 2026, coinciding with Maharashtra Day. Before its theatrical release, the makers of the film hosted a premiere on April 30, 2026, in Mumbai.

Many celebrities, including the film crew, arrived for the special screening of the period drama. Several contestants of Bigg Boss Marathi Season 6, hosted by Deshmukh, were also in attendance.

The special screening of Riteish Deshmukh’s ‘Raja Shivaji’ was a star-studded event. Many Bollywood celebrities, including the cast, made their presence felt at the premiere. Besides, Bigg Boss Marathi 6 contestants Rakhi Sawant, winner Tanvi Kolte, Reva Kurasi, Aayush Sanjeev, Omkar Raut and Sanket Pathak were also present at the special screening of the film.Now, a video of Rakhi urging everyone to go and watch the film in its premiere is going viral online. ‘Raja Shivaji’, as the title suggests, is based on the life of the Maratha warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Riteish Deshmukh will be seen in the titular character. At the same time, he also directed the film, his most ambitious project to date.

Apart from Riteish, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amoli Gupte and Genelia Deshmukh.The cast also includes Boman Irani, Siddharth Jadhav, Suresh Vishwakarma, Kapil Honrao, Siddharth Shinde and Mohit Takalkar. Salman Khan will be seen making a special appearance as Jiva Mahala in the film.The film hits theaters today, May 1, 2026. The film has been released in Hindi, Marathi and Telugu. According to a Sacnilk report, the film will have a record opening for its Marathi version.
