'Raja Shivaji' box office collection on day 3: Riteish Deshmukh starrer film grosses Rs 40 crore in opening weekend

‘Raja Shivaji’, starring Riteish Deshmukh, was a hit in its opening weekend, collecting Rs 40.34 crore in India during its first three days.

On day 3, the historical drama grossed an estimated Rs 12.00 crore nett across 5,771 shows, as per early estimates on Sacnilk.

The Marathi version continued to lead the film’s performance, contributing an estimated Rs 7.75 crore collection, while the Hindi version showed growth with a collection of Rs 4.25 crore.

This helped the film score its third double-digit collection in its opening weekend.This takes the film’s total net collection in India to Rs 33.90 crore, while the total collections have reached Rs 40.34 crore.

Despite a relatively smaller release of 1,852 Marathi language shows, the film saw a strong occupancy of 67%.

In contrast, the Hindi version, which released in 3,919 shows, recorded a lower occupancy of 22% while contributing Rs 4.25 crore to the day’s total.After a strong opening with a total collection of Rs 11.35 crore on Friday, the film earned an estimated Rs 10.55 crore on Saturday, registering a slight decline of 7% on its second day before rebounding on Sunday and witnessing a 13.7% growth at the box office.

Notably, the film exceeded early expectations, after initially facing doubts over crossing the Rs 10-crore mark during its opening leg.

As of May 2026, Raja Shivaji now holds the record for the highest opening day and weekend for a Marathi film, with Rs 13.51 crore on the first day and Rs 33.90 crore over the first three days. It has outperformed previous top openers like ‘Sairat’ and ‘Ved’, and has already beaten the entire collection of ‘Lai Bhaari’ which took Rs 40 crore in 2014. The film managed to reach the mark in just three days of its release.
