Actor R Madhavan was conferred with the Padma Shri, one of India’s highest civilian honours, by President Draupadi Murmu at the second investiture ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on June 23. His wife Sarita Madhavan and son Vedant Madhavan joined him at the ceremony.
The actor chose to wear a stylish navy blue ethnic wear for the occasion.But his watch was the highlight of his look. The actor wore a Jalsa Nebula watch by Titan with an 18-carat rose gold case. It has a miniature painting on the marble dial inspired by Hawa Mahal of Jaipur. This is a limited edition watch worth INR 40 lakh, of which only 10 pieces are available worldwide.After the ceremony, Madhavan shared a heartfelt message on social media, expressing his gratitude for the honor and reflecting on his journey in cinema.
He began by writing, “I am deeply humbled, deeply grateful and truly honored to be conferred with the Padma Shri. My profound gratitude to the Government of India for awarding me one of the highest civilian honors of our country. I am equally grateful to the Government of Maharashtra for recommending my name and placing their trust in my journey. This recognition is something I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

The actor went on to thank his fans for their unwavering support over the years, saying, “To every person who has watched my films, embraced my characters, celebrated my successes, forgiven my flaws, and stood by me over the years – this honor belongs to you as much as it does to me. Your affection has been the driving force behind every milestone in my life and career.”

Speaking about the responsibility that comes with this honour, Madhavan added: “Today, I also feel a deep sense of responsibility.
This recognition reminds me that every privilege carries with it a greater duty to uphold the values of integrity, humility, and excellence; To contribute meaningfully to the world of cinema that has given me everything; And to serve my country in every way possible.”At the end of his message, he dedicated the honor to his loved ones and colleagues. “I dedicate this honor to the magical world of cinema, to every artist and technician who walked alongside me and to my family who has been my strength… From the bottom of my heart, thank you. And I also thank @varoinmarwah for always making me look sharp on all important occasions…” Madhavan wrote.On the professional front, the actor recently appeared in the film ‘Dhurandhar 2’.
