Space adventure film “Project Hail Mary” topped the North American box office for the second straight week with $54.5 million in ticket sales, industry estimates showed Sunday.

The space saga, which stars Ryan Gosling as a high school teacher recruited to save the world, has so far grossed an estimated US$300.8 million worldwide. The film is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, based on the novel by Andy Weir, and has a production budget of US$200 million.

The value of the “hoppers” is 12.2 million US dollars

Disney/Pixar’s animated film “Hoppers” came in second place, earning $12.2 million in the United States and Canada, according to Exhibitor Affairs.

According to Deadline, its global gross currently stands at $297.6 million and should cross the $300 million mark at the beginning of next week. Disney Pixar’s latest original film, which has a budget of $150 million, tells the story of a young animal lover who uses technology to transfer her consciousness into a robotic beaver so she can better communicate and protect wildlife.

“Dhurandhar” earns US$4.75 million

Fourth place went to the Indian spy film “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” earning $4.75 million in its second weekend at the box office. Released just three months after the original aired in North America, “Dhurandhar” continues the story of an Indian spy who infiltrates Pakistani crime syndicates and politics, and seeks to dismantle a terrorist network.The film has so far collected an estimated $22.9 million at the North American box office, according to Deadline.
