Prince William made a surprise appearance on Travis and Jason Kelsey’s podcast New heights On Friday, the same day Travis is expected to marry Taylor Swift.
William’s appearance sparked ridicule on social media on Thursday and was revealed on Friday on Instagram.
“Our guest today is the 6-foot-3 Prince from London, England,” Jason says excitedly in a video posted to Instagram on Friday. “That’s right. President of the English Football Association, Deputy Royal Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, Duke of Cambridge, Duke of Cornwall, Lord of the Isles, Prince and Grand Master of Scotland, Earl of Chester, Prince of Wales. 92%, please welcome His Royal Highness Prince William!”
Travis cheers throughout the intro. “Let’s go!” He says while making bowing gestures.
“That’s quite the premise, guys. Amazing,” Prince William responds in the video, laughing.
“We had to do this big for you, and we had to do it big,” Jason adds.
The Kelces had teased William’s appearance the day before, by noting “We have a very special guest making his debut at New Heights” on X.
The special episode will be released at 9 a.m. PT on Friday.
Travis and Swift are expected to get married on Friday in New York, with plans underway at Madison Square Garden for a large wedding. Guests were seen arriving at the venue on Thursday night for what was said to be a rehearsal dinner before a larger party on Friday.
Swift and Travis met up with William and at least two of his children when she was in London two years ago for the Eras Tour; Photos posted online show Swift taking selfies with the royal family and Travis. However, according to the peopleWilliam will not be at the wedding.
William appeared on the British morning show HHeart breakfast In May, he was asked if he had received an invitation. “No comment,” he said, before adding: “I hope, and I’m sure, there may be an invitation, but we’ll see.”
