The indie star confirmed on Friday that Phoebe Bridgers will be embarking on an official tour, a day after she performed a surprise sold-out show at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.
The Lost Tour will kick off in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in September, and will conclude its US run of nearly two dozen shows with two concerts at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on October 30 and 31. They will then play a slate of British and European shows from November to December. Fellow beloved indie rocker Alex G will open for Bridgers on the North American run, while Isaac Wood will open the UK and EU shows.
Registration for tickets is open from now until June 11 at 10pm according to the press release, and in an effort to reduce online ticket waitlists, fans who register by 11:59pm on June 7 may be considered for the first day of pre-sale on June 9, while those who register after that will be considered for the second day on June 10. The official sale will take place on June 12.
$1 from every ticket sold in the US leg of the show will go to RAINN, and fans can make additional donations as well.
Notably, as with Thursday’s MSG show, the entire tour will be phone-free, and all phones will be placed in Yondr bags upon arrival, which can only be opened at the end of each concert. Bridgers isn’t the first major act to ban phone use at concerts; Jack White was one of the first major acts to use the strategy for a full tour in 2018, and Paul McCartney has used Yondr bags for some smaller shows like his surprise show at the Fonda in April.
However, Bridgers’ move takes the concept one step further, hanging up the phones for more than 15,000 fans in arenas instead of the hundreds to a few thousand in theaters. The decision will come as welcome news to those who are tired of having their view obscured while other concertgoers hold their phones in the air throughout the show to capture video.
“We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free viewing experience,” the tour’s press release said.
Bridgers’ tour comes on the heels of a string of acoustic shows in small markets over the past month, starting with Roswell, New Mexico on May 8. She also played in cities like Mobile, Alabama, Toledo, Ohio, Fargo, North Dakota, and others.
Fans have been anticipating new music from Bridgers for years as her latest solo album, punisher, came in 2020. Aside from music, she co-starred in the movie A24 alongside Robert Pattinson. Peak time also.
