Please note that the guild’s position has not changed. We will continue to call on regulators for the scrutiny and ultimately the safeguards and protections that producers need, that every person in this business deserves, and that is the right of those who consume what we make. The vitality of our industry is at stake and producers will not be silent about it.”
Ralph Farquhar was on hand to make the presentation to Brooke Akil, who told the room: “I’ve spent more than three decades working inside systems that were not designed in my mind — learning them, navigating them, and extending them. I’m so grateful to every collaborator, every writer in every writers’ room, and every cast and crew who have trusted me with their talents, time, and dreams.”
Later in the show, Barry Diller appeared to offer to Bloom, as the horror mogul admitted, “We live in this time where machines are so confident that they can choose what’s going to work, that algorithms can tell us everything we’ve ever watched and what we should watch next, and AI can tell us what to stream what mood we’re in next Tuesday. But what machines can’t do?” Then he brought up success Hot competitionnoting, “If you asked an algorithm a few months ago to predict a low-budget gay romantic hockey series with no established stars, I promise you the algorithm would be like, ‘Don’t make that show.'” But here’s why Hot competition need us. It needed producers. Bloom added that he invited the show’s producers to be his guests on the show, but they were in New York to watch Connor Story host SNL.
