American singer-songwriter Oliver Tree tragically died after two helicopters collided in mid-air over Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday morning. He was 32 years old.

According to CNN Brasil reports, Rio de Janeiro Civil Police confirmed that Trey was among the victims of the collision that occurred above the Recreo dos Bandeirantes neighborhood in the western area of the city.Local authorities reported that the collision claimed the lives of all six people on board the two helicopters. One of the two helicopters was carrying five people, while the second plane was operated only by its pilot.

According to a TMZ report, the Rio de Janeiro Military Fire Department said one of the helicopters crashed in the parking lot of a car dealership where several electric cars were parked. Video footage from the site showed a large fire spreading among the vehicles, which was later extinguished.
According to local reports, Trey was traveling on board one of the helicopters alongside passengers Lucas Vignali, Gaspar Brehm and Lucas Brito Chavez, in addition to pilot Alexander Souza. The pilot of the second helicopter was identified as Charles Marcillac. The authorities listed the six people among the victims.The authorities opened an investigation into the cause of the collision.
An eyewitness recalls the “horrific” incident.
Fernandez de Freitas, a tire repair worker, told the Associated Press that he saw one of the helicopters engulfed in flames after the mid-air collision.
He also claimed to have seen a passenger jump from the second plane before it crashed.“It was terrifying, absolutely terrifying,” De Freitas said.
