Nora Fatehi reveals how Sir Sir was born

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Nora said the experience of performing at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup was creatively fulfilling and transformative.“The experience has definitely developed me as an artist. It has been a fulfilling and inspiring journey. When I was attending the Africa Cup of Nations matches in Morocco in January, I heard nearly 70,000 fans chanting ‘Siir Siir’ in the stadium during every match, and I was in awe. The energy inspired me to reach out to producer Sanjoy and ask him to create an anthem for the World Cup using this chant,” she said. The actress explained that the stadium crowd’s contagious energy stayed with her long after the matches were over, eventually becoming the foundation of Sear’s run.

The national anthem, which was released just a few days ago, has caused quite a stir among music lovers and football fans alike.
