ETimes praises ‘Nooru Saami’

In its review, ETimes noted that the film avoids many of the traditional tropes often associated with village stories.Reviewing the film, ETimes wrote: “We’ve seen nearly a thousand of these village dramas before. What’s surprising is how rarely Sasi gets to the obvious. No whining, no revenge, and these stories don’t tend to descend into honor killing theatrics. They menace once or twice, when things heat up around Sylvie’s brother (Karunas), and then settle themselves.”

The ruling mood is closer to amused anger. Almost everyone is on a short fuse, short-tempered and quick to argue, but this irritation never turns into annoying melodrama.
