Netflix used its anime showcase at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Tuesday to reveal new footage, artwork and project announcements, including a first look at the series’ second season. The streamer has revealed new episodic artwork from the first episode of One pieceWIT Studio’s remake of Eiichiro Oda’s long-running manga series. The anime is described as a “new take” on the adventures of Monkey D. Netflix shared new images from Sparks of tomorrowthe upcoming Kyoto anime series based on Hiroshi Yuki’s novel. Set in an alternate early 20th century Kyoto shaped by steam-powered technology, the series follows two young men pursuing a vision of an electrified future. The streamer featured an interview with series director Minoru Ohta before the show’s debut on July 5.

The presentation included a new image from Bass x Machinaa steampunk Western series from executive producers Brian Tyree Henry and LeSean Thomas. Produced by Studio Mir, the series takes place in an area inhabited by outlaws, machines, and supernatural threats. It will premiere on November 3.

Annecy’s presentation forms part of Netflix’s broader animation push, which the company said will generate more than 1.5 billion views globally in 2025.
