Netflix has released a preview clip of Louis CK’s upcoming stand-up special.

New footage (below) shows the comedian performing a bit about his father’s situation in a nursing home.

The special marks the comedian’s return to live broadcasting nine years after the scandal derailed his career. His last special on Netflix was Louis C.K: 2017.

CK was exiled from the world of televised comedy after five women accused him of sexual misconduct at the height of the #MeToo movement. CK acknowledged the behavior, saying he thought at the time it was appropriate because he asked them first.

He then released several albums and specials through his own website. one of them, Sincerely, Louis C.Kwon Best Comedy Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards (after winning pre-scandal Grammys in 2012 and 2016).

The official description for the Netflix special indicates CK’s last self-released special — for 2023 Louis CK at The Dolby and Back to the park — although omitting the unusual circumstances of their release: “Comedy icon Louis CK returns to New York City three years after his last special with a perfect package that shows he is still a legend in the world of comedy.”

In May, CK headlined a show at the Hollywood Bowl as part of the Netflix Comedy Festival and the streaming special was announced. The comedian received a standing ovation and the set was filled with his signature raunchy material.

“This was my last show [on the tour]”Last time I told those jokes, I’m really glad I told you,” CK told the audience. “Thank you so much for coming. Thanks Netflix, I really appreciate this gig.”
