Directed by Lee Il-hyung (“Karma,” “A Violent Prosecutor”), the series follows a downtrodden husband whose talent for making fake bills drags him into a dangerous new world.

Netflix has prepared an upcoming Korean crime drama, Paper man (working title), starring Cho Jung-seok, Park Hae-soo and Claudia Kim, from director Lee Il-hyung.
The series revolves around Cha Myung-joo (Cho), an oppressed husband who works as a poster maker and lives in the shadow of his more accomplished wife. When a fake bill turns out to be so flawless that it is indistinguishable from the real thing, he is pulled into a dangerous world he never imagined. The show is presented as a crime thriller mixed with drama and humour, exploring “the value of money, human desire and the fine line between what is considered ‘real’ and ‘fake’ in society.”
The project reunites Lee and Park, who starred in the director’s latest Netflix series Karma. Lee’s other credits include the 2016 hit Violent prosecutor.
cho (Hospital playlist) plays the center of each human’s story, whose amazing talent for fakery sets the story in motion. Park, from Squid game and Drug saints Fame, he plays Oh Seung-eup, the first deputy director of the anti-counterfeiting department at the Korean Mint and a stubborn detective who approaches Myung-jo. Claudia Kim (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Jeongseong creature) plays Ko Hae-seok, Myung-jo’s polished wife and elite judge whose own dilemmas lurk beneath the family’s pretty surface.
Netflix said Paper man It is now heading into production, but has not revealed a target launch date.
Netflix revealed its 2026 Korean content stack in January, which includes 33 series and feature films. The company, the largest non-local producer of Korean content, has continued to add to this lineup in the months since, unveiling titles like rom-com Messy as ever after With Kim Min Ha and Noh Sang Hyun; Romantic series Long vacation from The plane crashes on you Director Lee Jong-hyo; And political excitement Generals from Drug saints Director Yoon Jung Bin, among others.
