Recalling his words, she said, “A few months ago, Shahrukh told me, ‘You know, Neelam, one of the reasons why Gauri and I got married is because of you.’She went on to explain how King Khan revealed the story behind the revelation. “He used to tell me that when I was doing films, he was a big fan and Gauri was also a big fan.
So they both watched my movies together. And so the novel began. They went to watch Neelam’s movie together and I didn’t know about it.’

Neelam then summed up the moment with a smile, adding, “So one of the reasons why Shahrukh and Gauri are together is because of me.” She admitted that she had no idea that her films were unwittingly playing Cupid in what would later become one of the most famous love stories in Indian cinema.
