Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 17: After the recent slump, the Sunny Deol starrer War had another successful weekend in India. According to Sacnilk.com, the film has collected over ₹309 crore so far. On January 23, Border 2 was released in theaters. The film collected ₹224.25 crore in its first week and ₹70.15 crore in its second week. Border 2 collected ₹2.85 crore on 15th day and ₹5.25 crore on 16th day.

According to early estimates, the film has collected ₹6.59 crore on its 17th day in India. In India, Border 2 has grossed ₹309.09 crore so far. It now has a domestic gross of ₹361.94 crore from 84985 shows.

Will Border 2 beat these blockbusters soon?

By Saturday, Border 2 had crossed the ₹300 crore milestone in India, beating box office hits like Dhoom 3 (₹290 crore) and Sultan (₹300 crore). The Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer has now crossed Padmaavat’s lifetime gross of ₹303 crore. It is now close to surpassing the likes of Bajrangi Bhaijaan (₹320 crore) and Por (₹318 crore).

Border 2 presents a military scenario that shows how soldiers from the Army, Navy and Air Force work as a unified force. Sunny Deol is playing the role of a soldier again with this film. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Dutta and Nithi Dutta.

The war drama stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, Pranav Vasisht and Medha Rana in lead roles. Border 2 is a sequel to the 1997 blockbuster of the same name. The project is bankrolled by T-Series and JP Films. The 1997 film is based on the events of the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan War, and Border 2 is also set against the backdrop of the same conflict.
