After delivering the blockbuster ‘Drishyam 3’, a new collaboration between Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and director Krischand, best known for ‘Masthishka Maranam’, seems to be in the pipeline.The project, which has been the subject of speculation for some time, has now received confirmation from actor-producer Maniyanpilla Raju.

Speaking to Mathrubhumi, Maniyanpilla Raju shared details about the progress of the project and the importance of having a strong script for a star-driven entertainer.He said, “With an actor of his stature, the script has to be exceptionally strong. We are planning the film as a full-fledged commercial entertainer in the spirit of Chhota Mumbai.”
Niyog is writing the script, though he is currently busy with “Tiki Taka”. The script process has already begun, the first draft is ready, and is now being reviewed.
Krishand had earlier shared details about the story
Before confirming Maniyanpilla Raju, Krishand also spoke about the proposed film during an interview with The New Indian Express. The director revealed at the time that the story was being designed to be a realistic police comedy.
According to Krishand, Mohanlal will be in the lead in the film, with another important character accompanying him throughout the narrative. Fans are eagerly waiting for the official update.
Mohanlal is busy with multiple projects
Meanwhile, Mohanlal was last seen in Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam 3. The veteran actor is also working on ‘Athimanoharam’ directed by Tharun Murthy. Interestingly, Mohanlal’s daughter Vismaya Mohanlal is marking her film acting debut with Goud Anthani Joseph’s ‘Thudakkam’ and the makers recently shared a song from the film titled ‘Thaliromale’.On the other hand, Mohanlal will reportedly be seen in a cameo role in Prithviraj Sukumaran and Vesak’s upcoming film ‘Khalifa’.
