Michelle Williams and Daisy Edgar-Jones helped impress CinemaCon guests with a first look at the thriller A place in hell.
The duo appeared in a video as part of a neon show in Las Vegas to promote director Chloe Dumont’s film, which hits theaters on December 25 and also features Andrew Scott and Danny Huston in the cast. A place in hell Williams stars as Rebecca, a pregnant criminal defense attorney, who comes to blows with a younger lawyer (Edgar Jones) as they collaborate on a difficult case.
“She handles your cases until you get back,” Houston tells Williams as she prepares for paternity leave.
Later, Edgar Jones warned Williams: “If you think you can get me out of the way, I advise you to take a bigger step.” “This is my whole life. This is all I’ve ever worked for,” Williams continues to lament.
Edgar-Jones has a memorable moment in the footage when she declares: “I’m not just going to replace you, Rebecca. I’m going to ruin your fucking life.”
In the video introducing the trailer, Williams and Edgar-Jones exchange jokes while sitting in a car. “If we don’t see you in theaters, we’ll see you in hell,” Edgar Jones joked.
Dumont drove A place in hell From her own script for the film, which counts Leopold Hughes and Ben LeClair as producers. Dumont’s directorial debut was the 2023 corporate thriller fair playStarring Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich.
CinemaCon is the annual event for Hollywood exhibitors and studios that takes place this year from April 13-16. It’s the official convention of Cinema United.
