At the 72nd National Film Awards, Mammootty shared the Best Actor award for Bramayugam and Kartik Aaryan for Chandu Champion.

Meanwhile, Yami Gautam bagged the Best Actress award for her performance in ‘Article 370’.The awards honored films that were certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) during the year 2024. The winners were selected by an 11-member feature film jury headed by renowned director Jayaraj after reviewing entries from across the country.

“Article 370” won the Best Feature Film award, while Rajkumar Periyasamy won the Best Director award for “Amaran.”The award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment went to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.

Regional cinema shines with major victories

Regional cinema also enjoyed a successful outing at the awards ceremony. “Feminichi Fatima” won the Best Malayalam Film award, while “Raayan” won the Best Tamil Film award. In other regional categories, “Committee Kurrollu” was named Best Telugu Film, and “Srikanth” was named Best Hindi Film.
