Season two of a task It’s starting to take shape at HBO with the casting of Mahershala Ali.
The two-time Oscar winner will join returning hero Mark Ruffalo in the drama from creator and writer Brad Ingelsby. Ali is the first new member announced for season two. Ruffalo is the only confirmed returnee from the series’ first season.
Ali also returns to HBO after seven years starring in the series’ third season True Detective.
Season two of a task It will follow Ruffalo’s Tom Brandis, an FBI agent, as he “takes command of a new task force, but the deeper the operation gets, the harder it becomes to figure out who the target is,” according to the show’s tagline. on (Moonlight, The Birth of Jurassic World) will play Eddie Barnes, a well-respected DEA agent in Philadelphia whose team comes into conflict with Tom.
The first season of a taskwhich aired last fall, also starred Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Kelly, Toso Mbedou, Fabian Frankel, Alison Oliver, Raul Castillo, Sylvia Dionisio, Phoebe Fox, and Martha Plimpton. Not everyone’s characters survived this season, so a change in some of the cast was inevitable.
Ingelsby (East Town mare) will return as showrunner for the second season and executive produce with Paul Lee, Wiip’s Mark Roybal, Jeremiah Zagar, Ruffalo and Ron Schmidt. Nicole Jordan Weber and Karen Walker are collaborating partners.
