A few days ago Love Island in the USA Set to begin its eighth season, Islander Vasana Montgomery has been pulled from the cast after social media posts of her using the N-word surfaced.

Her removal from the cast comes just days after the initial roster for Season 8 of The Islanders was announced on Thursday, and following Season 7 which also saw two cast members removed from the show due to their previous use of racial slurs.

Yulisa Escobar was an original cast member Love Island in the USA Season 7. After she entered the villa, clips of her using the N-word surfaced online, and she was pulled from the show. Nearly a month later, Sierra Ortega was also removed from the villa after receiving backlash over a social media post that showed her using racial slurs.

Despite facing some controversy with its seventh season airing during the summer of 2025, the show became Peacock’s most-watched original series, with season seven accounting for 18.4 billion minutes of viewing time over six weeks. Amaya Espinal and Brian Arenales were ultimately chosen as the winners of season seven.
