According to the OTT Trackers Twitter page, ‘Leader’ is expected to stream on Prime Video from May 1. However, there is no official confirmation yet. The platform did not announce the release date.At the box office, the film registered a modest start. It collected Rs 75 lakh on its opening day. On the second day, profits rose to Rs 1.14 crore. This represents an increase of 52%, as reported by Sacnilk. The film performed only modestly at the box office.The story follows an undercover agent who lives as a car mechanic in Thoothukudi. He was assigned a crucial mission. His mission is to stop a plan to destroy the port using ammonium nitrate.
ETimes’ review of the film says: “Saravanan has improved significantly since his debut. He has been given a character that plays to his strengths: Sakthivel is morose, serious and soft-spoken, and Saravanan maintains that register consistently. He won’t be asked to carry a heavy emotional load, but he doesn’t need to. Andrea, Sham and Santhosh Pratap give strong performances that complement his presence and keep the film’s dramatic engine running.”
