Laura Linney returns to Broadway next season in the world premiere of the new play Montauk.
Linney will star in the play, written by David Hare and directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, in spring 2027 at the Manhattan Theater Club’s Samuel J. Friedman Theater. Additionally, the non-profit theater has selected Linney as its first artist-in-residence, where Linney will develop projects for upcoming seasons at the Manhattan Theater Club and participate in MTC’s educational and community outreach programs.
Lenny has had a 35-year relationship with the Manhattan Theater Club, starting with MTC Beggars in the house of plenty in 1991 and an off-Broadway production Invisible sight in 1992. She later starred in MTC productions on Broadway Invisible sight; Time stands still; Lillian Hellman Little foxes; My name is Lucy Barton; and Summer 1976.
in MontaukLinney will play Roxy Margo, a star writer who becomes infatuated with Jared Speight, a stubborn artist with a very different approach to art and life.
