The upcoming game, ‘007 First Light’, is set to feature a theme song led by popular singer Lana Del Rey. According to the BBC, it has been confirmed that the singer, who is known for his hits such as “Summertime Sadness”, “Say Yes To Heaven” and “Diet Mountain Dew”, has worked with famous composer David Arnold on the title track. The song is titled “First Light” and has a duration of 3 minutes and 24 seconds. David Arnold had worked on music for five James Bond films prior to this project, building anticipation for the upcoming song and the video game itself.
Arnold also expressed his excitement about working with Lana Del Rey on the song, saying: “That’s why I was so excited to work with Lana, an artist who brings elegance, atmosphere and her completely unique personality to this piece, which I hope will open up the world of Bond to a whole new audience.
“According to the composer, the song is a combination of “a long line of genre-defining songs.”Earlier in 2024, Del Rey told the outlet how she wanted to work on a movie about the world’s most famous spy, and she wrote her song “24” with that in mind.
At the time, Sam Smith and their song “Writing’s On The Wall” was chosen as the theme song for that year’s 007 film, although the singer kept her hopes up.
About ‘007 First Light’
The video game’s story functions as a standalone story, following James Bond as he is recruited into MI6 and goes on missions to solve crimes. This is the first game about a 007 agent since the release of 007 Legends in 2012. Lana Del Rey will provide the theme song, while Patrick Gibson will play the role of 007 agent James Bond. Popular singer Lenny Kravitz will also be joining the game, and it has been confirmed that he will be voicing the main villain, Bawma.
The game is scheduled to be officially released in May this year, while the song is now available for streaming across various platforms.
