Veteran actress Lissy has returned to acting after a gap of 38 years by reuniting with director Priyadarshan in a new trailer. The comeback marks her first project under Priyadarshan’s direction since their 1988 classic Chithram.
The reunion with Priyadarshan also sparked nostalgia among film fans who remember the duo’s successful collaboration in the 1980s.Besides Lissy, the film also stars their daughter, actress Kalyani Priyadarshan. The mother-daughter duo is sharing screen space for the first time in a project directed by Priyadarshan. Veteran actor Prabhu Ganesan is also part of the ad.
Lissy shares an emotional note about her reunion with Priyadarshan
Lissy announced the project by posting photos from the shoot on Instagram.“It’s been 38 years since I last worked with Preetan and I’m so happy to be working with him again! Our last film together was the famous Chitram,” she wrote. The best part is that I am playing a mother to my real-life daughter Kalyani Priyadarsan in this ad film.
The actress recalls nostalgic moments from the photoshoot
Lacey also shared how comfortable she feels facing the camera again. She credited Priyadarshan for making the experience easy and recalled the sweet exchange that took place during the shoot.
She wrote, “When Brittan’s CEO, Abhilash, asked me if I was nervous on set after so many years, I said no, because Brittan knows me inside out, from the best to the worst angles of my face to make me look my best. (Brittany heard this and joked, ‘I know her best and worst behaviors too!’) On the set it was nostalgic for me! I tried my best to hold back my happy tears! The entire shoot was a place “Picnic.”Expressing her gratitude, Lissy thanked the brand for giving her the opportunity to reunite her with both Priyadarshan and Kalyani through the ad.
She also reached out to her fans for their constant encouragement.“I am so grateful for this amazing opportunity to work with both Brittan and Kalyani. My heart is full of so many emotions! Life has come full circle for me! Hello my beautiful fans and fans, I need all your love, prayers and support,” she wrote.Actress Mina commented, “It is wonderful. Priyadarshan recently confirmed his reunion with Lissy
Earlier this year, reports claimed that the former couple decided to reunite years after their separation.Priyadarshan later confirmed these reports during an interview with Mid-Day. He revealed that they chose to be together again without getting married again.“Except for the marriage certificate, we live the same life together,” he said.
