1 day ago trancePremiering season 3 on HBO, Labrinth continues the fallout from the Emmy Award-winning drama.
On Saturday, Labrinth took to his Instagram Story to share additional comments about the series, seemingly in response to creator Sam Levinson’s recent interview with rolling stone, He described Labrinth as an “incredible collaborator” and said, “I don’t know” why he left after working on the first two seasons of the show.
“People will comfortably lie in this industry and still call themselves honest. So there is no limit, I decided to remove any music that was in it,” the musician wrote. “I talked to HBO, as far as I know, we’re great. I left because, really, when I work for someone, their vision is of the utmost importance to me, but I don’t let people treat me like shit.”
Last month, Labrinth also expressed frustration with his record label, Columbia, and the entertainment industry in a since-deleted Instagram post: “I’m done with this industry. Fuck Columbia.” [Records]. Double curse trance. I’m out. Thank you and good evening x.”
Labrinth created many of the scores and soundtracks for the series, including songs such as “All for Us,” “Formula,” “Mount Everest,” and “Never Felt So Alone,” the latter of which featured vocals from Billie Eilish and received a Grammy nomination. All for Us, a collaboration with series star Zendaya, won the 2020 Emmy. Hans Zimmer scored the third season.
trance Season 3 premieres Sunday on HBO. The first on-site show is also expected for Coachella attendees, as Labrinth is a confirmed performer at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demme, Hunter Schiffer, Maude Apatow, the late Eric Dane, Natasha Lyonne, Rosalía, Sharon Stone, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Marshawn Lynch, and Trisha Paytas complete the cast for the new season.
