Kiara Advani bursts into tears while talking about her postpartum journey, recalls Sidharth Malhotra's support after the birth of her daughter

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra became parents to a baby girl last year. While Chiara was enjoying motherhood, she is now slowly returning to work. The actress will next be seen in Toxic alongside Yash.

In a recent interview, she opened up about her postpartum journey, opening up about the emotional changes she went through after becoming a mother and the support she received from her husband Sidharth Malhotra during that phase. In a conversation about Discovery with Raj Shamani, Kiara became emotional as she reflected on life after giving birth to her daughter in July 2025. The actress described motherhood as a profoundly transformative experience that brought with it a major shift in identity and emotions.Speaking about the months following the birth, Chiara admitted that the transition was initially stressful. She said it took some time to understand what she was feeling and process the emotional changes that came with being a mother. “There’s such a shift in identity. It’s a whole new world,” she said.Chiara revealed that it took nearly six months before she consciously started slowing down and paying attention to her emotional well-being.

Having spent most of her life prioritizing others, the actress said motherhood unexpectedly helped her reconnect with herself in a more meaningful way.“You realize you’re doing so much for everyone else. You forget the relationship you need to have with yourself. And the things you need to tell yourself. I’ve been focusing on others. What’s changed since my baby was born is that I’ve finally found the time to nurture that relationship I need to have with myself, and that’s probably the best thing,” the 34-year-old said. She also spoke warmly about Sidharth Malhotra’s support during that time and revealed that he made continuous efforts to be by her side despite his busy work schedule. Chiara shared that in the first days after giving birth, her emotions were getting intense, and even simple things would make her cry.At that time, Siddharth was busy promoting one of his films, but she said that he still ensured that he had a good time with her. According to Chiara, he would often visit her at her mother’s house late at night after work. She also recalled that on her doctor’s advice, Siddharth started taking her on short night trips, which eventually became comfortable for her.“In those early days, I was very emotional, and the smallest things brought tears, which is something we laugh about now,” Chiara recalls. “On the advice of our doctor, he started taking me for a drive every night. It was a very simple thing, but it helped me to get out and get some fresh air and break this overwhelming routine.”Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra got married in February 2023 and welcomed their daughter Saraya in July 2025.
