The History Channel is adding four shows — all hosted by famous actors — to its lineup of dad-coded series.

Kevin Bacon, Ted Danson, Dolph Lundgren, and Tom Selleck have all signed on to host shows for the cable network. The four will also serve as executive producers on their own series. The date was announced Wednesday as part of A+E Global Media’s presentation for the 2026-27 season.

Besides the four above-mentioned performances, history was also lit in green 102 minutes inside the towersa documentary dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks that will present perspectives from World Trade Center survivors, with Robin Roberts executive producing; and a digital series called The Mistakes That Made America, which will explore “the surprising blunders that reshaped culture and innovation.”

Bacon, Danson, Lundgren, and Selleck will join a History Channel host roster that also includes Danny Trejo (Secrets discovered), David Duchovny (Declassified secrets), Dan Aykroyd (incredible), Ving Rhames (The bloodiest in history), Dennis Quaid (Holy wonders(and Henry Winkler)Dangerous history).

The strange fortunes of history with Kevin Bacon It will tell some of the strangest financial stories in U.S. history, from the gold miner who discovered a million-dollar nugget to “an epic heist that turned a circus hypnotist into a notorious con artist.” The show comes from A+E Factual Studios in association with VaynerWATT.

Extraordinary Origins with Ted Danson Delves into the back stories behind many important inventions, discoveries, and innovations that helped shape the modern world. Produced by Fulwell Entertainment.

The Greatest Instruments in History with Dolph Lundgrenpremiering June 1, we’ll see Rocky IV and Expendables The star – who studied chemical engineering before turning to acting – explores the impact of machines on history, including the printing press, the Model T, and early personal computers. Superluna Studios produces in association with 3BMG.

Crime and Justice with Tom Selleckwhich will delve into some of the most important criminal cases in American history over the course of its 10 episodes. The show comes from A+E Factual Studios.
