The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival has booked the world premiere of his film Kenny Loggins: Damnation of the Heart, Directed by Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Dorie Bernstein.
Loggins, who went from being one half of the hit duo Loggins and Messina in the 1970s to writing hit songs for Hollywood movie soundtracks for Top Gun and Loosethe film about this life and career will be watched in the special presentations section.
Loggins also won a Grammy Award in 1980 for writing the Doobie Brothers hit “What a Fool Believes” with Michael McDonald, and in 1981 for the song “This Is It.” Bernstein document Condemnation of the heart A preview was also shown at the Newport Folk Festival in July 2025.
Hot Docs, which will run from April 23 to May 3, has also booked a global arc for Mark Myers The tower that built a city, About the CN Tower which defines the skyline of Toronto and its surrounding areas. And there is the international premiere of TCB – Tony Cade Bambara School of Organization, Directed by Luis Mascia and Monica Henriquez; The North American premiere of The Migrant Document fox under the pink moon, Directed by Mehrdad Uskowi and Soraya Akhalaghi; And the Canadian premiere of Oscar nominees’ latest work: Sam Green’s oldest person in the world, and Time and water By Sarah Dosa (Fire of love).
Alo receiving first offers in Canada is Maya Annick Bedouard Black zombiewhich bows this weekend at SXSW; Biljana Totorov and Petar Glomazic to hold the mountain, Winner of the Sundance World Cinema Grand Jury Prize for Documentary Feature; Poem of Judas Priest Directors include Sam Dunne; and american doctor, Directed by Boh Si Teng.
Hot Docs will reveal its full 2026 festival lineup on March 24.
