Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s blockbuster fantasy action film ‘Karuppu’ is gradually approaching the final stretch of its theatrical journey. After nearly four weeks in theaters, the film continues to record its collections despite facing a natural slowdown.According to Sacnilk, ‘Karuppu’ has collected Rs 43 lakh nett in India on Day 27. The collection came from 869 shows across different regions. The latest figure represents a 4.4 percent decline from the net Rs 45 lakh collected on Day 26.
Its box office gross in India is close to Rs 200 crore
‘The Karuppu Group’s total net worth in India has risen to Rs 194.81 crore. The film’s total collection in India now stands at Rs 225.15 crore.The film enjoyed an exciting opening week and collected Rs 113.85 crore.
It maintained strong momentum in the second week with Rs 54.30 crore. The third week added another Rs 21.20 crore to its tally. The film has already achieved a leading position at the box office.
Overseas performance drives global total
On day 27, the film has grossed Rs 10 lakh overseas. This took its overseas total to Rs 80.90 crore. ‘Karuppu’ has now reached a global gross of Rs 306.05 crore.
Occupancy remains stable in the fourth week
Despite entering its fourth week, ‘Karuppu’ continues to woo audiences in Tamil Nadu and other key markets.
The Tamil version recorded an overall occupancy of 15.91 percent on the 27th day.Morning shows recorded an occupancy rate of 9.36 percent. Afternoon showings improved to 16.64 percent. Evening shows recorded a rate of 16.36%, while night shows achieved the best performance at 17.91%.
The OTT premiere is just around the corner
The fantasy action thriller is set to premiere globally on Prime Video on June 12.
