Kangana Ranaut compares Ranveer Singh's criticism: 'They filed cases against me, tried to put me in jail, and banned me from the media'

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut compared the criticism faced by Ranveer Singh to the challenges she has faced during her career, saying she has already gone through harsher scrutiny, legal battles and media exclusion.Speaking in a recent interview with Fever FM, Kangana was asked about her support for Ranveer and her observation that as a person’s status grows, so do his enemies.

“I’m the first one to be banned”

Responding to whether she had faced something similar herself, Kangana said, “Yes, of course. I was the first one to get banned before… You know? They filed cases against me. They tried to legally seize me. They tried to put me in jail.”Recalling that phase of her life, she added: “At one point, I had so many cases, that my lawyer would bring appointments and dates all the time, and that was Pishyan hai Pishyan.”The actress further alleged that she has been sidelined by sections of the media.“And uske baad mein I was banned by the media. It was a big ban by the media,” she said.

“Master Teacher Hun”

Kangana noted that the experiences made her resistant to criticism and controversy.“Main toh guru hoon,” she said with a laugh, before adding: “I would say mujhe toh itnaban kiya gaya for years.”Referring to the criticism that successful public figures often face, she said: “And now, woh mujhe toh abhi bhi yeh sab bachchon ka khel lagta hai.”

About balancing representation and politics

Elsewhere in the conversation, Kangana also spoke about managing her responsibilities as an actor and politician.“No, it’s exhausting sometimes. I feel like I’ve had a lot of food on my plate, more than I can handle,” she admitted. However, she said that pushing herself has always been part of her personality.“But it is what it is. Whether I was making films, writing, or marginalizing myself, I tried to test myself, or push myself.”Explaining her outlook, Kangana added, “If you are going to push yourself, there is an opportunity for growth. If you are not willing to push yourself, there is a bit of richness and you can enjoy some stability. Disadvantages of Toh har ek cheez ka apna-apna hai.”
