‘Kala Hiran’ Controversy: Actor Sonu Mishra quits the film; He says, “It was made to tarnish Salman Khan’s name.”

Actor Sonu Mishra has publicly withdrawn from the controversial film ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy’, stating that he quit after realizing that the project was aimed at damaging the image of a senior actor.

His statement comes as Salman Khan continues his legal battle in the Delhi High Court to stop the shooting, promotion and release of the film, with the next hearing scheduled for July 1.

Speaking to ANI, Sonu Mishra revealed that he was initially chosen to portray Salman Khan’s character, believing that the film would present a positive story. But his point of view changed after he understood the true goal of the project.He said, “I was supposed to play Salman Khan’s character.

When I realized that the film was made to tarnish the name of a big star and the reputation of Rajasthani culture, my ethics did not allow me to be part of the propaganda against a big actor. After creative differences with the filmmakers, I decided to distance myself from the film.”Mishra further claimed that the makers never shared the script with him. Regarding the alleged threats from the Bashnoi sect, he was categorical, saying that there was “no doubt” about receiving any such threats, adding that this was his sect.

He said that films that highlight the community’s contributions to society would be more meaningful and the legal dispute should be left to the judiciary.

The actor has approached the Delhi High Court seeking an interim injunction against the film, arguing that the makers are commercially exploiting his identity without his consent, violating his personality and publicity rights and damaging his reputation.During an earlier hearing, senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing Salman Khan, said the filmmakers had no right to produce a film based on the actor’s life without his permission. The filmmakers opposed the petition and asked for additional time to respond, saying they only recently received legal documents.

The Delhi High Court listed the matter on July 1 before the list bench.
