Release plan My beloved is strange The next film will be directed by JT Molner.
Sony Pictures announced the horror film Creature on Monday Skeletons It is set for theatrical release on June 4, 2027. Brie Larson, Kyle Gallner, Daithi O. Haragin, Willa Fitzgerald, Ione Skye, John Goodman, and Keith Carradine round out the cast of the film, which the studio acquired as a package earlier this year in a bidding war outside the European Film Market.
JJ Abrams serves as a producer on the project. Molner revised the screenplay, which has a rough draft by Brian Duffield and is based on a short story by author Philip Fracassi Fail-safe.
Hollywood Reporter I previously mentioned that the story focuses on a young boy’s relationship with his mother, who is locked in a cage every night.
Skeletons Production began last month, and Fracassi took to Instagram to mark the occasion after the project’s circuitous path. Fracassi explained that he initially failed to find a publisher for the work, which eventually received praise when it was included in a short story collection. In 2022, Universal Pictures optioned the story, but the option expired two years later, at which point Sony prevailed in a bidding war involving Paramount and Warner Bros. And Neon.
“I’m so excited to see this story on the big screen, and can’t wait to visit the set next month to take it all in. What an amazing journey,” the author posted on June 22.
Molner wrote and directed My beloved is strangean independent thriller starring Fitzgerald and Gallner that will hit theaters in August 2024.
