Comedian and Daily show Host Josh Johnson is set to host the 2026 Webby Awards, Hollywood Reporter I learned exclusively.

The 30th edition of Celebrating the Best of the Internet is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 11 at the celebration’s old headquarters on Cipriani Wall Street in New York.

“The internet and social media we have can be so destructive sometimes, so coming together and celebrating more of the internet we want is a dream,” Johnson said in part in a statement noting he was “honored” to host the show.

Johnson began as a writer in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonmade his debut on Late Night in 2017. Since then, he has worked on Daily show As a writer, correspondent and current rotating host (he’s hosting Tuesday and Thursday this week). He is also an actor and stand-up comedian who recently wrapped up his sold-out Flowers tour.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Josh Johnson hosting this year’s 30th Annual Webby Awards,” Webby Media Group CEO Jesse Pfister said in a separate statement. “Josh continues to push boundaries and earn acclaim for himself, combining a sharp intellect with an empathetic instinct to champion voices in our community. His perspective and sense of humor come from a true understanding of the Internet and all that comes with it.”

Known for their distinctive five-word acceptance speeches, the Webby Awards celebrate the best of the internet across websites, podcasts, artificial intelligence, social media, games, apps, creators, advertising, software, video and film. Nominees for this year’s Webby Awards will be announced on Tuesday, March 31.

Previous Webby Awards hosts have included Ilana Glazer, Amber Ruffin, Roy Wood Jr., Patton Oswalt, Jenny Slate and Nick Offerman.
