Veteran actor John Travolta recently made his official directorial debut at the Cannes Film Festival. He acted in the 1997 film Propeller One-Way Night Coach, an adaptation of his children’s book.

When a clip from the film showed his daughter, Travolta couldn’t help but comment and smile as he said: “A star is born, right?”Travolta recently received one of the highest awards at the Cannes Film Festival, the honorary Palme d’Or, an achievement for an actor who has worked on a diverse range of characters.

While speaking with PEOPLE, Ella also talked about working with her father on sets. She stated during the interview, “I knew it was such a special night for my whole family that I made sure to kind of put myself in the moment and really take it all in. And it felt very peaceful, actually, and very beautiful and very emotional.”
