Modern familyJesse Tyler Ferguson returns to his stage role as Truman Capote in the London production of Guy Bryson’s Allen. Consider.

The American star will perform at the city’s Meniere Chocolate Factory from September 27 to November 14 after the famous show ended in New York earlier this year. Rob Ashford is set to direct.

Drawn entirely from Capote’s own words, Consider It was originally released in 1989. It takes place in the writer’s New York City apartment the week before Christmas 1975, following an excerpt from Capote’s notorious unfinished novel, Answered prayersIt was published in Respected. Essentially a two-act monodrama, Capote soothes himself with pills, vodka, cocaine, and chocolate truffles as he contemplates his life and career.

Ashford and Ferguson collaborated on the project in March at the House of the Redeemer’s Library.

“I am thrilled to present this intimate production of Consider “To Meniere after its successful run in New York,” said Ferguson, who won a Tony Award for his role in the Broadway revival of the play. Get me out. “The audience response to this unique theatrical experience, and the opportunity to meet Truman Capote up close, has been incredibly rewarding. I am delighted that Rob Ashford and I will now have the opportunity to share what we have created with London audiences.”

Ashford added: “It was a great pleasure to direct Jesse in a stage reading of Consider As a one-night-only charity benefit in Tangier, Morocco, in the summer of 2024. He was charming…he captured the truth of the man, his sense of humor, and his heartbreak. I’m thrilled that we’re getting the opportunity to further explore this wonderful pairing of actor and character in London.

Ferguson is no stranger to the London stage – he’s currently guest starring in King Herod Jesus Christ Superstar At the Palladium, he has previously appeared in Stephen Sondheim’s We are here In the National Theater.

Ashford’s theater credits include London Artist, Macbeth, Anna Christie and A Streetcar Named Desire.
