Welcoming the joy of fatherhood once again, actor James McAvoy, 46, has announced the arrival of his second child with wife Lisa Liberati. Now, navigating the whirlwind of raising two kids, McAvoy says that while the anxiety has subsided, the exhaustion has definitely increased.
James McAvoy has welcomed his second child and is speaking out about fatherhood in his 40s. In a new interview, the 46-year-old actor said he lives in London with his wife, Lisa Liberati, and their four-year-old son.
He is also a father to 15-year-old son Brendon, whom he shares with ex-wife Anne-Marie Duff. Being a father again later in life feels different, with less anxiety and more fatigue, McAvoy said.

According to The Guardian, McAvoy shared a family update while discussing life at home with Liberati and their young son. “Having a baby at 42 is definitely easier in some ways,” he said. He added: “I’m less anxious. I’m a bit more philosophical.”
“But it’s also harder, because you’re getting older and more tired.” The Guardian also reported that McAvoy declined further comment “for fear of creating tabloid material.”

McAvoy and Liberati first met in 2016 while filming “Split.” Liberati was working as director M. Night Shyamalan’s personal assistant at the time. They later began dating, and in February 2022, McAvoy confirmed to The Guardian that they had quietly married.
McAvoy has kept his personal life largely private. In a 2017 interview with Mr Porter, he said his life had changed “dramatically” after his divorce from Duff, but added that he did not plan to discuss his private life publicly. “One of the things that has stayed the same is that I still don’t talk about my personal life, really,” McAvoy said at the time.The actor and Liberati are raising their son in London, and McAvoy is now a father of two.
