Veteran Hollywood actor James Handy, best known for his roles in films such as “Jumanji” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” has died. He was 81 years old.According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the actor was brutally murdered at his home in Tarzana, California on Wednesday, the New York Times reported.

According to reports, officers responded to a nuisance 911 call.

Authorities said the caller told dispatchers: “I am the son of man. I just killed the man of sin.”When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Handy unconscious in the front yard of the property with multiple stab wounds to the chest, police said. Paramedics transported Handy to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.According to reports, Handy was allegedly murdered by a 44-year-old man named Michael Gledhill. He approached the police and indicated that he was responsible for the attack. Investigators identified Gledhill as the son of Handy’s girlfriend.Surveillance footage from the scene showed images of a man walking casually in front of a suburban home. Pictures from the crime scene also showed pieces of clothing she left in front of the house.

At the time of the murder, he was staying at his mother’s house.Police subsequently arrested Gledhill on suspicion of murder. The circumstances that led to the fatal stabbing are still under investigation, and police have not yet revealed a possible motive.Bail was set at $2 million, authorities said.Handy enjoyed a Hollywood career that spanned several decades and had nearly 150 films to his credit. Throughout his career, he has appeared in a wide range of film and television projects, including hit TV shows such as “The X-Files,” “NYPD Blue,” “Seinfeld,” and many other productions.The investigation into his death is still ongoing.
