'It's romantic without trying too hard': Shahid Kapoor on 'Tujhko' song with Rashmika Mandanna

The makers of ‘Cocktail 2’ on Monday unveiled the romantic song ‘Tujhko’, which has been picturised by Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The actor says he’s “romantic without trying too hard.”“There is a certain stillness in Togo,” Shahid said in a statement.

The kind that sneaks up on you. It’s romantic without trying too hard, which is what I connected with so much. There is an ease and intimacy to the song that feels very real.

“Photographing it with Rashmika was easy…we were just drawn to the emotions associated with it. I think it’s one of those songs that people will want to sit with for a while.”The song is about soft chemistry and moments that feel very personal yet cinematic. Wrapped in warm imagery, flowing silhouettes and sunlit frames, “Tujhko” creates a world that is tender, effortless, and emotionally immersive.Written by Pritam, sung by Arijit Singh, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the song blends emotional vulnerability with a refreshing summer softness that perfectly complements the world of the film.Rashmika added, “For me, Tujhko feels like a warm hug. It’s soft, emotional and full of little moments that feel so real.”“I loved shooting this song with Shahid, and I think there is something so peaceful and beautiful about the way the song unfolds.”

The movie “Cocktail 2” is scheduled to be released in cinemas on June 19.Directed by Homi Adajania, the film is believed to be a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film ‘Cocktail’, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty in the lead role. The previous song, “Intriguing”, which was picturized by Shahid and actress Kriti Sanon, ran into trouble after the song was allegedly similar to the 1993 Italian song “Se So Arrubate A Nonna” by the duo Bibi & Coco. However, its singer Raghav Chaitanya came out in support of composer Pritam Chakraborty, calling the plagiarism allegations “completely baseless”.
